A local salon and day spa desperately needed an updated design. The owner came to me looking for something modern and chic, while projecting a bit of the tropical feeling of the salon's atmosphere.
I designed and built the website in HTML, CSS, and jQuery. Simple PHP was used to template the site's header and footer. The website is responsive and scales down to all device sizes using the Foundation framework.
BrewTrackr is a personal side project that developed from my friends and I wanting to keep track of the craft beer we've tried. There are services out there similar to the idea, but most of them are focused around a social aspect and broadcasting what you're drinking at that moment. BrewTrackr takes a different approach in that at its core is a personal tracking and rating rather than telling everyone what you're drinking.
This was a project I used to teach myself some PHP. I designed and built the front-end in HTML, CSS, and jQuery, and I also built the back-end in CodeIgniter. The website is responsive and scales down to all device sizes using the Foundation framework.
DailyPen is a weekend project built on PHP and CodeIgniter. The core concept lies in its simplicity. Keep a daily online journal without all the complicated bells and whistles of current blogging platforms like WordPress and Tumblr. You can choose to keep it private, or make it public to share with the world, and there's just one entry per day.
The front-end was designed and built in HTML, CSS, and some jQuery. The back-end is built on CodeIgniter. Some of the additional features implemented are Markdown support for text formatting, email subscriptions, and cross-posting to social networks.
The design is also optimized for mobile devices using a custom stylesheet.
Second Bit is a budding software development team based out of Buffalo, NY. They've released products that have reached thousands of users and been covered by well-known publications. They came to me looking for a website to get their online presence up and running. I designed a site for them that provided a professional look to complement their high quality products.
The website was designed and built with HTML and CSS. The front-end code was then handed over to be implemented in a simple content management system built by their team.
Vegerator is a website used to find user-submitted vegetarian recipes based on ingredients you have at home. I was asked to design a clean, easy-to-use interface as well as the front-end development, while working with a back-end developer building the functionality.
The front-end was built with HTML and CSS, and using jQuery for some of the UI interactions. There is also a separate admin section for reviewing recipes, ingredients, user information, etc.
The website is optimized for mobile devices using a custom stylesheet.
A local thrift store and consignment shop specializing in children's clothing, furniture, and equipment needed an update to their old website. The owners wanted something fun and expressive to convey the children's store image, without looking childish and juvenile.
I designed and built a custom WordPress theme with HTML, CSS, and PHP for them to update content regularly, including a list of items they're looking for.
A local small business needed a simple static website to provide users information about the practice and get an online presence other than a Facebook page. The owner of Heinz Chiropratic wanted something clean and professional looking to appeal to a large demographic while at the same time instilling a sense of trust.
I designed and built the website in HTML and CSS, utilizing jQuery for an image carousel and photo gallery. Since launching the site, Heinz Chiropractic has gained a number of clients, many of them referring to the website when contacting the office.
